A Wisconsin man and his wife have filed a law suit against Iovate Health Sciences, the manufacturer, and Wal-Mart, the vendor. The suit was filed on June 8, alleging that the man suffered jaundice and necrosis of the liver after using the dietary supplement Hydroxycut for just over three weeks. The supplement was recalled on May 1.
The man used Hydroxycut at a normal rate from March 5 to March 29. After this period of time, he went to the emergency room feeling ill. He was diagnosed with jaundice and hepatitis. Several days later he was back at the hospital with worsening symptoms. He was then diagnosed with acute hepatitis and necrosis of the liver. He was hospitalized for 11 days.
