Supplement Injury

by Administrator 17. June 2009 08:42

Dietary and herbal supplements are not regulated by the government. That means that anything marketed as a supplement does not need testing to prove that it will not cause injury to its users. Recently, the FDA recalled Zicam, a cold remedy. The remedy was never marketed as a drug and caused at least 130 cases of anosmia, a long term or permanent loss of smell.

Unfortunately, losing your sense of smell is not the worst thing that can happen when you use an unregulated substance. Hydroxycut was recalled after several cases of liver failure, heart problems, seizures and a death were reported. Unfortunately, these recalls cannot take place until people are injured or killed by a product because the FDA cannot step in until that time.

If you or someone you know has been injured by Hydroxycut, contact the Hydroxycut recall attorneys of a law firm at your convenience.
