Why was Hydroxycut withdrawn by the United States Food & Drug Administration?

The FDA has warned that customers "immediately stop" using certain Hydroxycut branded products. They have reported that they have received 23 reports of liver-related illnesses that arose concurrently while patients were taking Hydroxycut. These symptoms included liver failure, jaundice, brown urine, and others. Additionally, one death has been reported in someone using the products.
